5 Things You Can Do To Build Up Your Confidence

We can all agree that the word 'confidence' is a struggle for a majority of us. The only way that we can overcome or be better at being confident is by making changes...positive ones that will make us grow and learn more about ourselves.

There are so many different things we can do to build up our confidence, but in the meantime, let me share with you 5 things you can start doing to build yourself up.

  1. Do Something that is Totally Out of Your Comfort Zone

I know that even just thinking about doing something that's is totally out of your comfort zone gives you a little bit of anxiety, but trust me when I say that this so important to do once in a while. By doing so you open yourself to different things and opportunities.

It can also open you to see that you are good at things you were not even aware of.

If you are scare of public speaking, take a public speaking class or record yourself talking about something you love and post it on social media. Go to a karaoke bar and perform in front of strangers (they don't know you so who cares..lol). You've always wanted to write a book, then start small and publish a blog. The point of this is that the more you push yourself to do something different, the more comfortable you will get and will be able to get over your fears.

2. Be Kind to Yourself

We tend to be our worst self critics, so start using kinder words to yourself. If you messed up on something do not put your self down, instead remind yourself that you tried and that you will give it a go again to be better. If you didn't get that job you wanted, then tell yourself that something better is out there waiting for you. Kind words raise you up so be POSITIVE.

3. Let Go of Things You Can Not Control

You might be wondering how's this supposed to help your confidence? Well, it helps tremendously because when you hold on to things or any wrongdoing that has been done to you then they will constantly be lingering in your mind. Which means the more negative things you have living rent free in your mind, the more it will affect your emotions and behavior and beat yourself down.

You have the right to grieve and wallow, but don't let it consume you. Remind yourself that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

4. Rock Your Favorite Outfit

Doll yourself up and wear that outfit that makes you feel good! Doing your hair the way you love, wearing your favorite lip shade or modeling that favorite outfit you got helps in lifting your mood. It has been scientifically proven that we associate behaviors and patterns from things we wear. We can't argue with science!

5. Set Short Term Goals

Setting short term goals helps you feel a self of accomplishment and also helps with you learning and growing. It gives you a clear and define path to success by allowing you to focus on one thing at a time. This will help you in staying motivated and reach your long term goals as well. Motivation + Accomplishment = Confidence :)

I hope that you take a chance on yourself and try these 5 simple things to learn more about yourself and realize that you hold the power to be confident.

Until next time!
